Taiwan Ranks First in FDI Capital in Binh Duong

In the morning of November 29th, the provincial People's Committee held a meeting with representatives of Taiwanese businesses investing in Binh Duong. Mr. Tran Thanh Liem, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the provincial People's Committee chaired the meeting. Attending the meeting were leaders of related departments and representatives of Taiwanese businesses investing in Binh Duong.

According to the Department of Planning and Investment, the situation of attracting foreign direct investment (FDI) into Binh Duong in 11 months of 2017 has showed positive changes. Total registered capital reached US$ 2,514 billion, exceeding 79% of the year plan, up 127% over the same period. Up to now, Binh Duong has licensed 3,027 FDI projects for investors from 64 countries and territories with total investment capital of US$ 28.28 billion. So far, FDI capital from Taiwan invested in Binh Duong has climbed up to the first position with US$ 5.8 billion, accounting for about 20% of total investment FDI in Binh Duong. The investment projects of Taiwanese enterprises have contributed to creating jobs, contributing greatly to the economic development of Vietnam in general and Binh Duong in particular.

At the meeting, dozens of comments and questions raised by the Taiwanese businesses has all been satisfactorily answered by representatives of the provincial People's Committee and departments, the settlement has built high trust with the Taiwan business community in Binh Duong.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Tran Thanh Liem, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the provincial People's Committee said that the relevant departments of the province have received and had answers, explanations into focus and solved most of the opinions, recommendations and problems of enterprises. In the coming time, the province will continue to focus on improving the investment environment, enhancing the competitiveness and promoting the development of investment enterprises in the province in general, Taiwan enterprises in particular.
