Soc Trang Stunningly Attracts Investment

Investment in Vietnam - In recent years, the situation of attracting investment of Soc Trang province has changed positively and prosperously. Domestic and foreign enterprises have paid more attention to Soc Trang for investment and expansion of production.

Attracting potential investors

Soc Trang province is poor and largely ethnic minority, mainly Khmer inhabitant. For the development, the province has made efforts to call for investment. In the last days of 2017 and early 2018, leaders of Soc Trang province continuously welcomed foreign investors such as Banpu Public Co,.Ltd (Thailand), Egeres Co,.Ltd (Singapore), Dragon Joy International Engineering Company (Hong Kong) , and so on. The coast has a length of 72km, the average wind of 6-6.2m /s; investors expressed the intension to invest in building wind and solar power plants in the province. This is also one of the potential development areas of the province. According to the Department of Industry and Trade of Soc Trang Province, according to the planning to 2030, phase 1, the province will develop wind power projects at 13 locations with a potential capacity of 1,155 MW; Phase 2 development planning will be in 11 locations with a total capacity of 315 MW.

At the meetings, leaders of Soc Trang province committed to create the most favorable conditions for investors to implement the project. At the same time, to direct relevant departments to actively guide investors to complete relevant procedures.

At present, in An Nghiep Industrial Park, many companies have invested in building factories and operating effectively. According to the Management Board of Industrial Zones of Soc Trang Province, An Nghiep Industrial Park has 34 enterprises leased land with 41 investment projects, of which 25 enterprises have come into operation, filling more than 65% of the area. The projects here have created job for over 11,600 local workers.
