Japan's Investment in Vietnam Reached a Record US$ 8.5 billion

By the end of November 2017, Japan's investment in Vietnam reached a record US$ 8.5 billion with 150 projects. By the end of December 2017, Forecast is to reach the highest level ever.

Known as Japan is the leading ODA provider for Vietnam, the second-largest foreign investment destination, with the third largest number of tourists. The PM expects Japan to lead the way in all three sectors. .

The two countries have maintained a mutually beneficial trade relationship and along with, direct investment from Japan to Vietnam has increased dramatically. Nakamura said that by the end of November this year, Japan's investment in Vietnam reached a record ÚS$ 8.5 billion with 150 projects. At present, more than 1,700 Japanese enterprises invest in Vietnam in many different fields.

Co-chairman of Japan-Vietnam Economic Committee, Ichikawa, said that in order to further improve the business environment in Vietnam, it is necessary to develop infrastructure such as electricity, railways, roads and seaports. He expressed his hope that the Japanese companies would continue to participate in infrastructure development projects in Vietnam. He hoped that the Government of Vietnam and the Prime Minister would pay attention to solve the current problems of enterprises in the course of business investment in Vietnam, such as import procedures for cars, the issue of social insurance premiums for foreign employees at FDI enterprises.

The Government of Vietnam hopes that the cooperation between the two sides within the framework of the Vietnam-Japan Joint Initiative will be raised to new heights, not only addressing the recommendations of Japanese enterprises but also issues that State management agencies are interested and need support from Japanese enterprises. The Government and People of Vietnam attach importance to their relationship with Japan in all areas, always considering Japan as a close partner.
