Hai Phong Calls US$ 500 million FDI Capital for 4 Key Transport Projects

According to information from Hai Phong Tourism, Trade and Investment Promotion Center, in the period from 2016 to 2020, there are 4 transport projects in the city calling for foreign direct investment with a total capital of nearly US$ 500 million.

Investment in Vietnam - Four projects calling for FDI in Hai Phong include: Road tunnel project from Nguyen Binh Khiem to Vu Yen Island; Grade separated junction between Ho Sen Bridge Rao 2 - Nguyen Van Linh; Hai Thanh Bridge (on the 3rd Ring road) from the section of 353 provincial road to junction of Tan Vu and Ben Lam Bridge.

In particular, the project of grade separated junction between Ho Sen Bridge Rao 2 - Nguyen Van Linh in Le Chan district and Hai An district has a land use area of 6 hectares, total investment capital of US$ 17 million.

The projects have a special significance, contributing to perfecting the structure of the city's transport system in the direction of North-South, forming an axis of traffic connecting the center of the city with National Highway 5 and Do Son tourist area. At the same time, it help to promote the exploitation efficiency of Pham Van Dong and Cau Rao 2 roads and the Ho Sen - Cau Rao 2 entire road, reducing the load for Cau Dat - Lach Tray - Cau Rao roads.

The investment in the construction of basic projects in accordance with the master plan for construction of the Hai Phong city to 2025 with a vision to 2050 creates conditions for exploiting the land fund on both sides of the road, attracting investment and contributing to the socio-economic development of Le Chan district and the city.

The second project is the road tunnel from Nguyen Binh Khiem to Vu Yen Island in Hai An district and Thuy Nguyen district. The road tunnel project is 350m long, built with 4 lanes. Land area is 8.1 ha with investment capital of US$180 million.

The other two projects are Hai Thanh Bridge (on the 3rd ring road), from 353 provincial road to Tan Vu intersection in Duong Kinh district and Hai An district. The project is 5 km long with 12 lanes. The land use area is 40 hectares with a total investment capital of US$ 135 million.

Besides, Project on Ben Lam Bridge, Hong Bang District and Thuy Nguyen District has a length of 1,300m, built 10 lanes with a land area of 6 ha. Total investment capital of the project is estimated at US$ 160 million.
